So I have gotten quite a few requests to share deets about my upcoming nuptials. And I've really wanted to, but as you can imagine my life has been crazy since I've gotten engaged, and we've only just locked in the venues.

First off, I want to say how lucky I am. Not only am I getting to marry my best friend, and the absolute man of my dreams, but I am getting simply the most amazing future mother in law. Who has been so wonderful in helping organize everything, and making sure its all exactly as both I and The Man want it, so thank you very much Mama, as you have been amazing.

We are having an extremely intimate ceremony and reception in July. And it all didn't quite feel real until we picked out our wedding rings. Which felt so surreal, but it all of a sudden dawns on you that your getting married!

I always thought I wanted a simple gold band, something that would match his. But when I started looked, I just didn't feel right with that. But when I found this ring at Prouds, I just knew it was the one. Its full of diamonds, which actually isn't my favorite thing about this ring. When you look at it from the side, it some how reminds my of King Triton's Scepter, it starts low on the sides and build up height towards the middle. It's just lovely, and not plain at all!

We are having a traditional Church ceremony. And I'm in love with the Church, it's a very old fashioned Church which I love, we went to a few different ones, but as soon as we walking into this one, we knew it was the place.

Now, while I love the Church, I cannot wait for the reception! We are having high tea's and a very lovely spot in Hobart. Right now its a secret location, and only the people who get invites will know where and when. We walked past this place on one of our first dates together, I swooned from the outside. But when I saw the inside, and that it was available on the day, I almost collapsed.

See that chandelier, well there's actually two of them!  And our little wedding table, will be under this one. And the mantelpiece will be covered in candles, scented candles of different heights. My thought process behind that is, that smell is such an important yet over looked factor - the reception will be in winter, and what a wonderful way to warm a room up, then to have it smell like vanilla and white tea. And luckily, there is another mantelpiece and mirror on the other end, where there will be more candles, oh gosh - it's going to be just devine!

Now on to the dress, which I am keeping under wraps until after the big day! Because, this is going to be the most important outfit of my life - and I want to get good snaps and show it off in it's full glory! Can you blame me?

But, It's being custom created for me by the amazing Hope & Harvest, a truly amazing Australian brand, who have just been a pleasure to work with. I've only seen once sketch - but they just get me! I can share, that it won't just be one colour! I also have an amazing statement necklace from Samantha Wills, which just glitters under any light. I'm doing my own hair and makeup because I don't really trust anyone else to do it, and I've got skills anyway! And I'm still toying with what shoes too wear, but I think I will be getting this amazing pair from Shoes of Prey.

I've not shared every single detail, because I haven't thought of every single detail! But with only just over 3 months to go, I'm getting awfully excited!

Oh, and these are our invitations, currently in the process of being printed!

  2. Oh, it looks lovely! The reception spot looks like something from another time, out of a dream. Thanks for sharing some of your details. Engagements are such a wonderful, beautiful time. Yes, it's busy, but it sounds like you're really swept up in the fun of it, too.
